Our membership community
MidCircle is a different kind of writing group. We are a supportive, generous community of midlife (and beyond) writers—a tiny corner of the Internet where women can write together, learn from each other, and deepen their writing practice.

What makes MidCircle unique?
We are a writing community focused solely on the needs, unique perspectives, and strengths of midlife women. We specialize in amplifying the voices of midlife women who write, and collaboration and community are the cornerstone of our mission. We believe midlife women are powerful.Â
Our membership is specifically for women at midlife (our definition of “midlife” is more of a state of mind—if you are 82 years old and feel at home here, we welcome you!) and we believe we have so much to learn from one another. A hallmark of our work is supporting the voices and knowledge of other midlife women, and we are actively seeking guest presenters who can share their skills and wisdom with our community.
It's easy to find online writing workshops—everything from how to get published to how to write flash fiction—but we believe MidCircle is different.Â
While we offer courses and drop-in sessions dedicated to improving your skills as a writer, MidCircle is more like the intersection of craft and soul. Our community is designed to help you get in touch with yourself as a creative person and tune into your unique voice. Workshops and community meetings are intimate and interactive—they are a sacred, safe space to share your writing and your life experiences.Â

The HerStories Project is about meeting women where they are.
Jessica and Stephanie have been teaching creative writing workshops to women for over a decade—everything from prompt-based groups to personal essays to month-long summits to planning books. Our community members have shared what matters most to them, and we are listening.
