A 60-MINUTE WORKSHOP WITH ÁINE GREANEY
Darling, You're Making a Scene
How to Draft and Craft Memorable Scenes in Your Fiction and Non-Fiction Writing
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD AT NOON EST
Whether we’re drafting fiction, memoir or personal essays, we must engage our readers via lively, memorable scenes. In this course, participants will learn how to draft, write and edit scenes that emotionally resonate with our readers and make them turn the page for the next part of our story..
Here's what you'll learn:
- The all-important opening scene and how to let your readers “in.”
- Macro and micro issues of—and tips for—scene building
- Balancing “live” scenes with your narrative or explainer paragraphs (aka showing versus telling)
- Achieving vividness to make your readers care
- Whether to include dialogue in your scene
- How to craft closing scenes
